Tile Drainage
Tile Drainage is one of the best water management practices to help improve farm land. By installing tile your land can benefit from better soil aeration, reduced compaction and decreased soil erosion. The factors combined result in higher, more uniform yields and increase the value of your land.
Process
Innovative Agri Tiling uses the highest quality of equipment, product and technology. The drain tile process begins by surveying the field, determining outlet, sizing of pipe, and spacing laterals to find the necessary material for a quoted estimate. From this point, GPS controlled installation machinery is used to install the tile, both custom and unique to each job site.
Benefits
Tile drainage is economically beneficial to the farmer. It can allow higher value crops, such as fruits and vegetables, to be planted where they could not otherwise be profitably grown. Tiling can increase the yield for a variety of different crops, including but not limited to: potatoes, canola, wheat, corn and sunflowers.
The agronomic reasons for having tile drains installed into farmland are many. Tile drainage can affect the physical properties of the soil. The removal of excess water results in better aeration and corresponding microbial activity, improved soil porosity and tilth and overall better soil structure (Hill 1976; Gardner et al. 1994).
